Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was at our house and it turned out beautiful! I decided on rich warm shades of purple for the main color theme! I had paisley napkins drenched in shades of eggplant, greens and gold’s. I mixed that up with some solid white napkins and added a few purple and white that had a checked pattern. I'm not one that normally mixes too many patterns but I think the trick was to keep the table cloth a solid color. Here is a list of some of the items I made.

Napkin rings made out of scrapbook paper, ribbons and pearls.

• I cut 1/2 inch strips by 5 inches and used Modge Podge to adhesive the ends and mixed it up from using scrapbook paper for some and ribbon for others and then put a small pearl for a special touch on each napkin ring.

For place cards I used pinecones from the yard so that was obviously inexpensive.

• I painted them gold then put each persons name on some glossy old cream invitations that I cut into strips. I glued the names onto the pinecones to make sure they were secure and that was it!

I wanted to have a centerpiece that had accents of purple but not overwhelming so I took a little trip to our farmers market. I bought flowering kale and brought them home, cut the stalks and plopped them into a vintage white pitcher and they looked so good people thought they were fake.
