The title of the blog has actually been named by plenty of friends and family who actually ask when I sleep. They usually say this in response to some type of craft creations that I have created and either displayed at a party or given as a gift. Either way, I'm the girl who manages insomnia by getting crafty!!

My DIY, rustic, vintage barn wedding!
Our wedding was on 5.29.2009 and it was an amazing time by all! Email me any questions you might have!
Old Mill Creek Barn, MI
Dance Hall
Our Initials from the back of the barn
Behind grounds where our ceremony took place
Simple for ceremony, ferns and rose petals
Directional Signage
Where the reception/dining took place
Lovely Peonies!
Old Window Frames for place cards
Birdcage Veil
Dancing, dancing, dancing!
My father made us the wood box with our initials and our wedding date! I store magazines in it now!
Our menu was written on an old door covered with chalboard paint
The girls had 2 rules for their dresses, long and pink :)
Guys wore chocolate brown tuxedos with converse shoes, their initals our on the tounge of the shoes with our wedding date.
This was made and put on the side of the road so you could see where the wedding was located since it was on a windy, dirt road in the country!
Bar in the dance hall...
Our crazy fun wedding party, we love 'em!
Cutest God Children Ever!!
I changed into Cowboy boots to walk into the ceremony, we did a goofy thing and the guys wored bandanas and had cap guns, girls had feather boas and we danced into Cotton Eye Joe (barn wedding, get it..lol)
Lanterns covered in reindeer moss with peonies and hydragenas, tall vases full of in season flowers and candles covered the tables.

Lollipop Gift Wrap!
More gift wrapping fun!! I loved these little lollipops that I created. I used an old gift box that was heart shaped and inserted some long sticks that I am sure I came across in other packaging and thought I could use them later (I'm a pack rat for craft items).
I also made some cute little bows and attached them to snap barrettes and used those as embellishments.
This is the total package that is a paper mache bag that I painted with ever so happy polka-dots.

Here is another gift basket that I created with a lollipop packaging (and I did manage to get a size 18 months in the top one and the bottom one is a 3 T).

Baby Showers and more, oh my!
Catch up time! I have been busy, busy, busy for work so I've been traveling and neglecting my blog. I have to admit that I am new(er) to blogging so I'm not as creative as I would like to be, but, I'll get there.
I've had to be resourceful with my time since I have been traveling and so with my free time, I've been crafting. In those words, it is time to play catch up.
The beautiful mom to be always gets the attention so I thought I would create something for dad! I also put a little special touch on all of their gift items with the wrapping, see below!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was at our house and it turned out beautiful! I decided on rich warm shades of purple for the main color theme! I had paisley napkins drenched in shades of eggplant, greens and gold’s. I mixed that up with some solid white napkins and added a few purple and white that had a checked pattern. I'm not one that normally mixes too many patterns but I think the trick was to keep the table cloth a solid color. Here is a list of some of the items I made.
Napkin rings made out of scrapbook paper, ribbons and pearls.
• I cut 1/2 inch strips by 5 inches and used Modge Podge to adhesive the ends and mixed it up from using scrapbook paper for some and ribbon for others and then put a small pearl for a special touch on each napkin ring.
For place cards I used pinecones from the yard so that was obviously inexpensive.
• I painted them gold then put each persons name on some glossy old cream invitations that I cut into strips. I glued the names onto the pinecones to make sure they were secure and that was it!
I wanted to have a centerpiece that had accents of purple but not overwhelming so I took a little trip to our farmers market. I bought flowering kale and brought them home, cut the stalks and plopped them into a vintage white pitcher and they looked so good people thought they were fake.

Halloween 2009
So I'm going to play catch-up and post a few of the parties I hosted this year. Actually, we had like a party a month in 2009 and it started with our wedding on May 29,2009 and didn't stop. We were married in an awesome barn on the Western Michigan Coast, I'll post those laters.
Heres some pictures from the festivites! The invitations were black crate boxes with a resin casted finger and a ribbon around the finger as a reminder. They were from Martha's line and I just added some touches to personalize it with more information.

Creepy Finger Invite to set the mood!!
